The Mission

There is a thread that runs through all of my work—a belief that the stories we carry, the food we grow, and the communities we belong to are worth protecting.

From the Roots is where that belief moves into action. It is my advocacy work: a global mission for food freedom, cultural preservation, and the communities whose heritage is at risk of being lost to the pressures of a changing world.

Where the library holds stories and the studio holds art, the mission holds the ground. It is the part of my practice that cannot be contained in a page or a canvas—it asks to be lived.
